Description 

The Caterpillar (CAT) AD45 is a heavy-duty underground mining vehicle primarily used in mining operations. The rims of these vehicles face extremely harsh working environments, thus requiring very stringent design and manufacturing standards.
The AD45 has a designed payload of approximately 45 tons (99,208 lbs), and combined with the vehicle's own weight, the total weight is enormous. The rims must be able to withstand this continuous high load and cope with the impacts and bumps generated when traveling through uneven, rocky underground mines. Any deformation or structural damage to the rims can lead to serious accidents.
Underground mining environments are challenging, including sharp rocks, hard surfaces, and narrow turning spaces. The AD45's rims need to:
High impact resistance: Able to withstand direct impacts from sharp rocks, preventing rim cracking or deformation due to impact.
Good fatigue resistance: The rim material must not fail prematurely due to fatigue under repeated high loads and impacts.
Wear resistance: The surface and edges of the rim need to have excellent wear resistance in environments filled with abrasive dust and rock debris.
To ensure vehicle stability and safety, the rim size must perfectly match the tire and the vehicle's hub. The CAT AD45 typically uses large-size tires like 29.5 R29, and the rim diameter and width must be fully compatible with this tire model to ensure a tight fit between the tire and bead.
The rim's center bore diameter, bolt hole positions, and pitch must precisely match the CAT AD45 rim; any deviation will result in an insecure installation, creating safety hazards.
