What is the function of a tractor wheel rim?

Tractor Wheel Rims are key load-bearing and connecting components in the tractor wheel system. Although they may look like just “a steel ring”, they play an irreplaceable core role in the tractor’s traction, stability, safety and operating efficiency.
Tractor Rims are steel structural components used to mount and secure agricultural tires , connect tires to axles and hubs , and bear the weight of the machine and its operating load. They are typically used with agricultural bias tires/radial tires , wide tires, narrow tires, and dual-wheel systems.
The core function of a tractor wheel rim is to bear the weight of the entire machine and the load . During operations such as tilling, sowing, and transportation, the tractor generates its own weight plus implement load , soil reaction force , and loads generated during starting, steering, and braking , all of which are transmitted to the tires and the ground through the wheel rim.
The wheel rim is the true load-bearing skeleton in the tractor wheel system.
Connecting the tires to the powertrain and transmitting traction , the wheel rim transmits engine power to the tires via the driveshaft and axle , ensuring stable traction output , reducing power loss , and improving operational efficiency . Insufficient rim strength directly impacts traction performance.
Therefore, tractors have extremely high requirements for wheel rims. High-quality tractor wheel rims can ensure accurate tire seat angle , provide even tire support , and prevent tire slippage and wheel slippage . This is especially important for tractors working in soft farmland , on slopes , and under heavy traction conditions.
The wheel rim must bear the load of the entire machine and its operation ; high load-bearing capacity is a stringent requirement for the wheel rim.

This is the heavy duty version DW25x28, designed for wheel loaders and tractors, construction equipment and agricultural rims.
